Demographically this city is diverse with different languages such as Konkani, Tulu, Beary Bashi and Kannada are mainly spoken here. The landscape of this city consists of freshwater streams, coconut palms, rolling hills and buildings with red clay tiled roof.

By Roadways:

Mangalore is highly accessible as Four major National Highways pass through the city.  NH-66 runs Panvel to Edapally, NH-48 runs to Bangalore on east. NH-13 goes from Mangalore to Solapur and NH-234, the longest highway connecting the city to Villapuram.

Mangalore tourism provides bus service which is mainly operated by the private operators. The service provides access in two means one within the city limits while the other is intercity. These buses are available from the city bus station. Other mode of road transport of Mangalore tourism here are white taxis and auto rickshaws. 

By Seaways:
The harbor of Mangalore has storage, logistical and shipping services, while the new port of Mangalore handled bulk, dry & fluid cargoes. It is the station for coast guards as well. This is an artificial harbor and India's 9th largest harbor.

By Air:
The International Airport in Mangalore is situated near Kenjar/ Bajpe and is around 15 km away from the center of the city. This is the 2nd airport of Karnataka which operates with international flights.



How to reach Mangalore by trains:

Rail connectivity was established in Mangalore in the year 1907. This city was also an inception point of the longest railway route of India. This city has 2 railway stations; one is the Mangalore Central in Hampankatta while the other is in Kankanadi, Mangalore Junction. This is the meter gauge rail track.
