A place for holidays enjoyment and holy religious visit


Cheap Air TicketsHarihareshwar is a small town in the Raigad district of Maharashtra in India. It has four hills  Harihareshwar, Bramhadri, Harshinachal and Pushpadri surrounding the place Harihareshwar . The river named Savitri that enters the Arabian Sea is from the Harihareshwar town. Towards the northern side of the town is the Lord Harihareshwar temple located. This is believed to have been blessed by Lord Shiva. So Harihareshwar is usually referred to as "house of God"or Dev-ghar.
Though Harihareshwar is a major pilgrimage center, it has also a popular beach resort with two beaches. Out of the two one being in the northern side and the other in the southern side of the temple.  The department of Maharashtra Tourism Development has a resort on the southern side  of the beach. This place , along with beaches like Shrivardhan and Diveagar Beach forms a well known weekend places. It is 190km from Pune and 210km from Mumbai.
Harihareshwar temples
The Kalbhairav Jayanti Utsav was inaugurated by Mr. Yashawant Balawant Nagle. He was the Sardar of Queen of Janjira who was administering the Harihareshwar village. He had donated almost a large portion of his property to the Temple management for funding.Harihareshwar Temple complex has got two adjacent temples. First comes the smaller Kalbhairav temple which is expected to be visited first. Then comes the main Harihareshwar temple, housing an ancient Shiva Linga which is the major temple here which comes in the Harihareshwar Tourism. A pradakshina route goes along the sea shore, around the temple. This route is sometimes restricted during high tides.
Harihareshwar beaches
Harihareshwar is also the renowned tourist spot in region of Konkan mainly for its temples and beaches. However , it is termed as Devbhumi or Temple Town. Harihareshwar  has got two beaches. One that is a straight beach which goes about 2.4km in length that is in front of Harihareshwar Temple. The other beach goes about 2km in shape of L which is just in front of MTDC Resort.
Harihareshwar is also an evergreen place and one can visit this place in any season. It is also placed in the heart of nature and surrounded by Sahyadri’s hills. Spending three to four days of holidays here is easy and worthy. There is no accomodation problem here as there are government controlled hotels and few private hotels are available here in Harihareshwar Tourism. There are some who offers Bed and Breakfasts who provide accomodation in homes. Harihareshwar Beach is also a well set up beach.
How to reach Harihareshwar By Air
The airport which is close to Harihareshwar is Mumbai Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport that is located approximately 220 km from Harihareshwar. This airport in Mumbai is well linked to all the important cities in India and abroad.
How to reach Harihareshwar By Train
Mangaon station is the railway station that is close to Harihareshwar, which is located fairly at a distance of 65 km. This is also well connected to all major cities and towns. From Mangaon station , there are more numbers of trains that are being operated from place to place. Outside the railway station, private cabs or taxis are easily available for the tourists to reach the place.
How to reach Harihareshwar By Road
There are state owned road transport corporation buses which links to all major cities that is located around Harihareshwar. Private owned tourist operators and bus services readily are available from Pune that is 208 km approximately and Mumbai which is 188 km approximately . These tourist buses charges them about Rs 3 per kilometer.
