Leh is an embodiment of natural
beauty along the banks of Indus River in Jammu
and Kashmir known for its majesty and amazing
sceneries. The land of Lamas,
Leh houses numerous Buddhist monasteries, monuments and study centres. Being the trade centre in Central
Asia, this place offers wonderful shopping experience. Leh is also famous for its winter woolen
clothes, decorated world famous carpets and the spectacular Tibetan motifs and
jewellery. Popularly known as the Snow Desert,
the main rail head is Jammu
and the nearest airport is Leh. There
are regular buses connecting Srinagar

Located to the south east of Leh
in the middle of the prominent valley
of Rupshu is the Tso Moriri Lake known to public as
Tsomoriri Wetland Conservation Reserve, a place where you can relax in the lap
of Mother Nature. Crystal
clear water refracts a band of colours when sunlight falls on it in the Pangong Lake,
the highest Lake in the World. The lake will take the breath away as it is
surrounded by beautiful gorges and vistas.
A treasure place on this planet is the Nubra Valley,
kaleidoscope of landscapes offering landscapes and welcoming the tourists with
yellow and pink wild roses. An exclusive Tibetan Culture settlement is the Zanskar Valley where Buddhist population can be
prominently seen and the valley is unapproachable due to heavy snowfall for

trekking and tourists can engage themselves in river rafting.
A pass used by the Indian
Army to carry out its supply processes is the Khardung
Pass which offers a spectacular
view of the green valleys, Rocky Mountains

World’s second coldest inhabited region is the Drass Valley where the temperature can
even go down to minus 40 degree Celsius in winter. This valley offers the
most famous trekking route even though there is cereals and Barley
cultivation. An elliptical stretched out plateau is Rangdum
surrounded by Rocky mountains, crystal
clear streams and exquisite hills.
The monastery dates back to the 18th century is
appreciated for its amazing structure and brilliant architectural
patterns. The most inhabited region
of Zanskar is the Padum
Valley at an altitude
of 3,505 mts. The set of rock carvings on the huge stone and the
Starrimo Monastery and the Karsha Monastery offering spectacular views of
the green vistas are the major attractions of this place. Leh also offers a handful of adventurous
activities like trekking, river rafting and mountain biking for adventure
lovers.
