town. Then one can either take a horse or by foot till the heart of Matheran.
Matheran is very popular for the

Matheran is situated
at about 100 km from the city of Mumbai
while Pune is around 120 km away. This town does not have any airport of it
own. The nearest airport is Chatrapati Shivaji Airport of Mumbai. One can fly
till Mumbai and then take roadways to reach Matheran.
How to reach Mangalore by trains:
The most nearest railway stations to
connect this hill station is Neral which is around a distance of 11 km from
Matheran. Matheran has its own slim gauge track railway station in the town
centre.
From Neral one can take a taxi as
shuttle which charges 50 rupees or the entire cab individually for around 300
bucks. The taxi would drop one till the entrance of the hill station this place
is known as Dasturi Naka. From here one can take a horse which will cost around
300 rupees if does not want to go by foot.
